Salmon R&D Center

AquaMaof co-owns a RAS R&D and training facility near Warsaw, Poland, with 8F Asset Management. The facility, which utilizes AquaMaof’s integrated RAS technology, produces hundreds of tons annually of smolt and market-size Atlantic salmon, from egg stage to a harvest size of up to 6kg. It also operates as an R&D center for salmon production, collecting valuable information and analyzing it, as well as a test bed for further innovation in RAS. The facility also serves as a location for training customers’ staff from around the world.

Shrimp R&D Center

AquaMaof’s Research and Development center is located in the southern part of Israel, in the desert. At this facility, we have been conducting technology and engineering trials on new aquaculture technology developments and a variety of fish species, including shrimp. For the last 3 years AquaMaof has been developing a proprietary RAS technology for commercial land-based production of shrimp. During the research we successfully achieved high-density shrimp production, high shrimp survival rates, and low FCR (Food Conversion Ratio) - all in a disease-free environment, with very low bacterial counts in the water.

Salmon Production Facility

A new salmon production RAS facility is to be built in cooperation with Smøgenlax Aquaculture AB, as part of a circular economy industrial park, Renahav, in Kungshamn/Smögen on the West Coast of Sweden. The design stage is currently underway. In the first phase, which is currently being launched, AquaMaof will construct a 2000-ton capacity facility, from egg to harvest, with plans for capacity to be increased to 6000 tons in the future. The RAS salmon farming facility will contribute to a new sustainable ‘way of life’ that local industries are creating in partnership with each other. What used to be waste will become essential raw materials for new processes. The salmon RAS facility will benefit from sustainable energy created by Renahav and will tag into existing structures for organic sludge etc., resulting in sustainable fertilizer for the local farms.
